Meralco does the UNTHINKABLE overcharges clients this month of May
In a time of Global pandemic, everyone is scrambling, the country is in disarray. Meralco does the unthinkable and surprised their clients with a 200 - 300% spike in the bill.
Banks, private companies and others are out there helping out citizens of the country and they started doing this.
For the previous bills, they told clients that they will just charge based on average consumption for the previous months, we THOUGHT that would be how they will contribute to the society by not charging based on meter reading, while on quarantine, we know that consumption will obviously increase during these months. BUT we did not expect that they will come at us with 3 - 5 times billing outside our average consumption.
Looking at the above consumption chart, it is not realistic based on the graph to have the increase in usage to be this high.

People are starting to complain over the internet, we will have to wait and see what Meralco will do, but so far based on previous complains over the years, Meralco is always untouchable by the Government and they just brush this off. Remember, we are still paying for systems loss, power being stolen by jumper connections from your friendly Kadamay neighbourhood.
Government erment should have just handed over the SAP money to Meralco if we know this would happen.

I was also charge regular consumption is 160 and now suddenly it Rose to 333.. I don't have AC I only use fan tv and ref it is Impossible to double the use in just a month... They are trying to charge us for the free they have given to those below 50kph.
